This page describes what data we collect, how location data is used, and how users can request updates or deletion.

Sign-up and partner forms on this website

This section covers the forms on this website: joining the private beta, and the
sponsor and collaborator forms. It does not cover the WhoIsNear app.

What we collect

• Your full name, email address, phone number and its country, city, and the language you choose (English or Arabic).
• The answers you type into the form, for example your organisation, your role or your idea.
• That you accepted this notice, with the date and the version of the notice.
• Whether you agreed to receive news from us. This is optional and off unless you tick it.
• The page you sent the form from, the page that linked you to us, and campaign tags in the link, if any.

How we check you are a real person

• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is filled in by a person. Cloudflare receives your IP address for this check.
• Twilio Verify sends a code by SMS to the phone number you enter. Twilio receives your phone number to send it.
• To stop the SMS step being abused, we keep a scrambled one-way code made from your IP address and browser, together with the phone number, for 7 days. We do not keep your IP address itself.

Why we use it

To contact you about the private beta, or about the sponsorship or collaboration you asked
about. We send you news only if you ticked that box. We do not sell your details.

How long we keep it

Your form submission is deleted automatically one year after you send it. Phone
verification records are deleted after 7 days.

Where it is stored and who sees it

Submissions are stored in our database (MongoDB Atlas) behind our server (Render). Only
the WhoIsNear team can see them. Cloudflare, Twilio, Render and MongoDB process data for us
and may do so outside your country.

Your choices

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your details at any time. Email
wisamsh@gmail.com and include the reference code
you saw after sending the form, if you have it.
